Western / Reining in New Hampshire

New Hampshire fits a surprising amount of riding into a small state: White Mountain trail country in the north, lake shores and rolling hills through the middle, and a dense barn scene in the south. Guest ranches, trail stables, riding academies, and boarding and training barns all have their footholds here. Riders can log long trail miles, take structured lessons, or head out on multi-day pack trips, and the scenery resets completely with every season.

The north belongs to the White Mountains. Designated trails inside the vast White Mountain National Forest carry riders into serious terrain, with views toward Mount Washington and Franconia Ridge, and outfitters running multi-day pack trips for those who want to stay out. North Conway and Lincoln are the usual staging towns, close to the trailheads, well set up for riders chasing the wilderness end of the sport.
