Hunter / Jumper in New Jersey

New Jersey packs more horse country into its borders than the turnpike view suggests. The northern Skylands roll out wooded hills and old hunt country; the southern Pine Barrens spread flat, sandy trails through pine and cedar for mile after quiet mile. In between sit historic estates, high-performance show barns, rustic trail stables, and boarding farms tucked well away from the traffic, a working equestrian landscape in a state most people cross without noticing it.
