  We just attended a birthday party here and the staff was great. While the weather was a bit warm, the kids (ages 3-7) had a wonderful time with the animals and riding the horses was certainly the highlight. The air conditioned room set aside for the festivities was certainly welcome.

  My daughter was a complete novice when she started lessons. The riding academy is very well tailored to your Child's skill level. No rushing them. Safety first always. We have liked all of the well-skilled instructors. The clinics offered are so wonderful for all ages. Summer day camp is a must! The arena is covered which in bad weather is an added benefit. Indoor viewing area for parents/visitors is great! Can't say enough - my daughter loves it here!

  My daughter loves it. Amazing coaches, small groups, positive learning environment and calm horses. The coaches have great knowledge and patience! They teach the kids not only how to sit properly on a horse but how control a horse, how to take care of them and check on the kids basic knowledge. I do love how much the horses mean to the coaches! You don’t see that often. My daughter feels challenged and heard during lessons.

  We were first introduced to Thunderbay at a birthday party. We’re in Charlotte and it seemed like an eternity to get there. When we arrived it was well worth the time! My daughter fell in love. We first signed her up for day camp and she loved it. The next year we had her birthday party there and signed her up for lessons, her first Residential camp and another week of day camp. We have been so pleased with the facility, trainers, horses and Deb, the owner. Deb shares her love and passion of horses with the girls. She’s infectious with her passion. My only hesitation for recommending this facility is that I feel like it’s our secret treasure, but other than that it’s well worth the drive from Charlotte to have your daughter be taught safely and passionately about the care of horses.
