  This place is gorgeous. The folks who work are extremely attentive and kind. The horses are in the best shape of any trail riding program I’ve seen and they are very well looked after. It was 108° today so I opted to continuing living and skipped the ride but they took me out to groom a wonderful mare and hung out with me in the air con for a bit. Really wonderful place, will absolutely return when I’m back in CO.

  We didn’t use the hotel but we did book in for a private horse ride. We went out with Casey (who was lovely and very knowledgeable about the local area). We had an amazing time and even got to see a baby bear! The horses were very experienced so my 9yr old son who was a novice rider was very safe (the horses who have probably ridden the trail behind the leader even if he’d not touched the reigns). Most importantly though the scenery was AMAZING! There’s no better way to experience the Colorado countryside than on horseback as we managed to get right down to the creek edge and right up on the hill ridges which would have been extremely exhausting if on foot. It was the perfect end to our holiday! I would highly recommend the Ranch and their team, especially their beautiful horses!

  I never leave reviews, but after my stay this weekend, I feel like I have to. I will say that we had a great time at the wedding this weekend, the food was great and the event hall was beautiful. Overall, I had a great time. However, the cabin I stayed in was very disappointing. It was in horrible shape for how much I paid. The bathtub is very old and hard to use, I would also expect the shower to stay warm for longer than 5 minutes. There were so many spots where paint needed to be touched up. The nook where the mini fridge is was the worst spot in the entire cabin. There's a cabinet there that just smelled like something died. The entire cabin smelled musty. It could use new carpet and the comforter probably doesn't help the smell either. It could really use some basic updating and replacements, and I'm sure it would be fine. Regardless, I feel like I was charged too much for how bad the cabin was.

  I have done about 10 Guest Ranch Riding Holidays and this was my favorite. The way Karen starts out with a ground lesson, then arena lesson, then the intensity of the rides slowly increase, building up to the Gymkana at the end - made it so that beginners and well seasoned riders can all ride and have a fantastic time. Having the owner so present and engaged with the guests was special; she is a delight. I enjoyed the hearty delicious food, the myriad of activities, the well trained horses and the friendly helpful staff. I will be returning!!!
